Individuals with mental illness who wish to have employment, live independently and be productive members of their communities. Individuals who may benefit are those who want to live and work independently, but may lack the finances, resources, support and skills to do so on their own.

Details: 

The Fairweather Lodge is a community living arrangement with an employment component managed by its residents with assistance provided by the Lodge Coordination Specialist. The Lodge Coordination Specialist serves as consultant, educator and teacher.Through shared responsibility, accountability, work and mutual respect, individuals build a strong foundation in which to enjoy safe, affordable housing, find and keep employment, develop friendships, and have support in their recovery. Residents currently operate two employment components:

St. Margaret Foundation Free Medical Shuttle Service
The St. Margaret Foundation Free Medical Shuttle Service is a non-emergency medical shuttle service provided by the Fairweather Lodge to/from St. Margaret's Hospital and other UPMC service providers in the Alle-Kiski Valley for residents of the following geographic areas:

  • Arnold
  • Brackenridge
  • Cheswick
  • Creighton
  • Lower Burrell
  • Natrona
  • Natrona Heights
  • New Kensington (including Parnassus)
  • Springdale
  • Tarentum
